A COMMANDING century from Darren O'Brien has put Devon Meadows in a winning position after day one of its semi-final clash against Merinda Park at Donnelly Reserve on Saturday.

O'Brien came to the crease with his side 1-20 but steered his side to 8-237 with an unbeaten 107. Bruce Watson batting at No. 8 played cameo with a valuable 36.

Kooweerup looks set for another grand final appearance after dismissing Officer for 171 in its semi-final.

Koowee's attack, led by Ben Miller with 3-29, was all over the opposition. Paul Bright was lively with the new ball and took 2-43. Skipper Shane Dole was also in good form with 2-31.

The Demons survived a tricky two-over stint before the close of play.
