Rain douses Tooradin bid

08 Mar, 2010 08:11 AM
WET weather has ruined Tooradin's chances of sneaking into fourth spot after drawing its match against Kooweerup.

While chasing down 329 was highly unlikely, the Gulls were batting with purpose, despite being a long way from the total at 5-148 off 48 overs.

Aaron Avery was the star of the show with a brilliant 67 not out.

For Kooweerup, Matty Bright was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3-42 in preparation for next week's elimination semi-final.

In District, Devon Meadows will need to improve its form lines going into next week's semi-final after losing to Clyde on Saturday.
