 Young dad's plea for help

Young dad's plea for help

15 Mar, 2010 09:24 AM
SHANE Simons, 21, has been dogged by disaster in his short life.

He hit the headlines in 2008 when his then-partner Rachel Murray miscarried in a Casey Hospital toilet.

In the latest blow, Mr Simons became homeless last Friday week when a fire gutted the kitchen of the Cannons Creek home he was renting.

"My mind is absolutely scattered," he told the Journal last week.

Stresses on the young pair, who separated in January, included a car accident last September and three miscarriages before Natalie was born.

The couple remain friendly and were at the house with Natalie when a pot of oil caught fire on the stove.

No one was injured but Mr Simons lost the fridge he was buying on a payment plan, a microwave and some baby toys.

He and Natalie are living temporarily at his mother's Cranbourne home, but

he is keen to hear from anyone who has a cheap home in Casey he can rent.

The young father, who has previous experience as a kitchen hand, supermarket worker and general labourer, also wants to find work.

Anyone who can help can call Mr Simons on on 0420642324.
