Taking the next step together

THE Spinal Muscular Atrophy Association of Australia is hosting a fun run around Wilson Botanic Park.

The family-friendly event also has plenty of activities for those not wanting to run, says association chief executive Julie Cini.

"There is a 10-kilometre run, a five-kilometre run and a five-kilometre walk. There will also be family activities like face painting and African drumming. So even if you don't run you can still participate."

The event is called the Million Steps for SMA to honour people with the disease. "There is no discrimination, so even you're if in a wheelchair come along and be part of the day. You don't have to be the world's top runner to participate. You don't even have to finish the whole thing - just come along and enjoy."

The event is on March 28 at Wilson Botanic Park. Entry costs $25 and a T-shirt is included. Register on 97689052 or on the day.
